YES Bank: Sumitomo Mitsui Banking Corporation Increases Stake to 24.22%

Sumitomo Mitsui Banking Corporation (SMBC) has increased its stake in YES Bank to 24.22%. The acquisition involved 1,32,39,58,760 shares. The transaction was executed off-market on September 22, 2025. Following this acquisition, SMBC now holds 7,59,51,93,954 shares in YES Bank. Total equity share capital remains unchanged. Diluted share/voting capital has been increased.

Stake Acquisition Details

Sumitomo Mitsui Banking Corporation (SMBC) has acquired 1,32,39,58,760 shares of YES Bank. This purchase increases SMBC’s holding. The transaction was completed via an off-market acquisition. The share acquisition was finalized on September 22, 2025.

Revised Shareholding

Following the acquisition, SMBC’s total shareholding in YES Bank has increased. SMBC now holds 7,59,51,93,954 shares. This represents 24.22% of the bank’s total share/voting capital and 23.92% of the total diluted share/voting capital. Prior to this acquisition, SMBC held 6,27,12,35,194 shares, constituting 20% of the total share/voting capital.

Capital Structure

The equity share capital/ total voting capital of YES Bank before and after the acquisition remains at INR 62,73,12,46,928. The total diluted share/voting capital after the sale acquisition is INR 63,50,61,43,810.
