GAIL (India) Limited Revision in Completion Schedule for Mumbai-Nagpur-Jharsuguda Pipeline Project

GAIL (India) Limited has announced a revision to the completion schedule for its critical Mumbai-Nagpur-Jharsuguda Pipeline (MNJPL) Project. The original completion date has been progressively extended from March 1, 2026, to June 30, 2026. This decision was formally approved by the Board of Directors on March 25, 2026. The rationale highlights that several key sections are already operational, with the final Maharashtra section expected to commission by the new target date, pending approval from PNGRB.

Completion Schedule Revision for MNJPL Project

GAIL (India) Limited has formally communicated an adjustment to the timeline for the Mumbai-Nagpur-Jharsuguda Pipeline (MNJPL) Project. This vital infrastructure spans a total length of 1702 Km, segmented into several critical parts, including the Mumbai – Nagpur Pipeline (Part-A: 693 Km), Nagpur- Jharsuguda Pipeline (Part-B: 692 Km), and Nagpur- Jabalpur Pipeline (Part-C: 317 Km).

Revised Timeline Details

The revision moves the target completion schedule progressively from the initial date of March 1, 2026, to June 30, 2026. The Board of Directors approved this extension during its meeting held on March 25, 2026, which convened between 6:30 p.m. and 8:35 p.m.

Project Status and Rationale

The primary rationale for this extension centers on the commissioning progress of the pipeline segments. The Mumbai-Nagpur, Nagpur-Jharsuguda (Chhattisgarh & Odisha Section), and Nagpur-Jabalpur pipelines are currently reported as operational/commissioned. The remaining work involves the Maharashtra section of the Nagpur-Jharsuguda pipeline within the MNJPL project, which is now scheduled to be commissioned progressively by June’ 2026.

Furthermore, the company confirmed that further approval required for this extension in the completion schedule of the MNJPL Project is being sought from the PNGRB.
