Major Board Approvals Announced

Expansion into Medical Education

The Board approved a new strategic direction focusing on education. This involves the Establishment and operation of a Medical College and related educational activities. This marks a significant new line of business, expected to build a strong pipeline of skilled medical professionals.

Initially, this initiative was planned through the Wholly-owned Subsidiary, Global Health Institute of Medical Sciences Foundation, which was incorporated on March 30, 2024, as a Section 8 (Non-Profit) Company. However, following revised regulations from the National Medical Commission (NMC) that removed the restriction on only Section 8 entities establishing medical colleges, the Board has approved that the application shall now be made directly through the parent company, GHL.

The estimated total project cost for setting up the medical college is Rs. 322 Crores, which will be funded through internal accruals or debt.

The Board also approved the signing of definitive agreements for a build-to-suit development and lease arrangement with Shripal Hospitality LLP & Others to establish a 400+ bedded hospital in Varanasi, Uttar Pradesh.
