Hindustan Petroleum Corporation Limited (HPCL) announced the appointment of Shri Alok Tripathi as a Government Nominee Director on its Board, effective March 23, 2026. Mr. Tripathi will serve for an initial term of three years. He currently serves as Joint Secretary in the Ministry of Petroleum & Natural Gas (MoP&NG) and brings extensive experience from the Indian Railways and prior board service at Numaligarh Refinery Limited.
Board Change Notification
Hindustan Petroleum Corporation Limited (HPCL) formally informed stock exchanges regarding a change in its Board composition. Effective March 23, 2026, Shri Alok Tripathi (DIN: 06668832) has been appointed as the Government Nominee Director to the Board of Directors.
The appointment is for a duration of three years, subject to the co-terminus basis or until further orders, whichever is earlier. The company confirmed that Shri Tripathi is not related to any existing Directors and is not debarred from holding the Office of Director by any regulatory authority.
Profile of Shri Alok Tripathi
Shri Tripathi is an accomplished officer, having joined the Civil Services on the IRTS cadre in September 1999 after completing his B. Tech and M.Tech in Mechanical Engineering from IIT, Kanpur.
His prior service includes joining the Ministry of Petroleum and Natural Gas (MoP&NG) in 2012 as Deputy Secretary (Marketing). Presently, he holds the position of Joint Secretary, MoP&NG. Furthermore, Shri Tripathi has prior board experience, having served two terms as a Director on the Board of Numaligarh Refinery Limited, a subsidiary of Oil India Limited, between August 2013 and October 2017.
