Waaree Energies Limited announced significant board and senior management changes effective March 20 and 21, 2026. Mr. Amit Pathankar stepped down as Whole-Time Director and CEO, effective immediately. Mr. Jignesh Rathod was appointed as the new Whole-Time Director and CEO starting March 21, 2026. Additionally, Mr. Abhishek Pareek has taken over as Chief Financial Officer (CFO), succeeding Ms. Sonal Shrivastava, who ceased her role upon completing her notice period on March 20, 2026.
Waaree Energies Announces Senior Management Reshuffle
The Board of Directors of Waaree Energies Limited convened on Friday, March 20, 2026, to approve several crucial appointments and cessations affecting Key Managerial Personnel (KMP) and Senior Managerial Personnel (SMP).
Cessation of Director and CEO
The company mutually agreed that Mr. Amit Ashok Paithankar shall be relieved from his position as Whole – Time Director and Chief Executive Officer (CEO) with effect from Friday, March 20, 2026. This departure is earlier than the previously intimated date of May 15, 2026.
Furthermore, the Board noted the cessation of Ms. Sonal Shrivastava from the position of Chief Financial Officer (CFO) at the closure of business hours on Friday, March 20, 2026, following the completion of her required notice period.
New Appointments Effective March 21, 2026
Based on recommendations from the Nomination and Remuneration Committee, the Board approved the following appointments effective Saturday, March 21, 2026, subject to shareholder approval for the CEO role:
- Mr. Jignesh Devchandbhai Rathod (presently CEO – Designate) appointed as Whole -Time Director and Chief Executive Officer. Mr. Rathod holds a Doctorate (Ph.D.) in Business Administration and has been associated with the company since November 28, 2007, overseeing operational functions. His appointment term is set for five years, from 21.03.2026 to 20.03.2031.
- Mr. Abhishek Pareek (presently Group Head Finance) appointed as Chief Financial Officer and Key Managerial Personnel (KMP). Mr. Pareek, a Qualified Chartered Accountant with approximately 20 years of experience, joins the KMP role effective March 21, 2026.
New Senior Managerial Personnel (SMP) Appointments
The Board also approved the appointment of two individuals as Senior Managerial Personnels (SMP), both effective Wednesday, April 01, 2026:
- Mr. Munna Singh appointed as Deputy Chief Financial Officer (“Deputy CFO”). Mr. Singh, a Qualified Chartered Accountant with 20 years of experience, joined Waaree in July 2025 as Assistant Vice President – Finance.
- Mr. Varun Goenka appointed as President – Growth & Strategy. Mr. Goenka holds a BBA in Financial Engineering (ISB-UCLA) and has 22–24 years of experience in Indian capital markets.
