Infosys and Formula E Unveil New AI Race Centre

On March 20, 2026, Infosys, a global leader in digital services, and Formula E, the world’s first all-electric FIA World Championship, announced the launch of a new AI-powered Race Centre. This platform is powered by Infosys Topaz and is designed to place fans at the center of the action by using intelligent data to create a deeply immersive race-day experience.

This initiative marks an advancement in Infosys’s second year as Formula E’s Official Digital Innovation Partner, moving beyond data-led insights to offer deeply immersive fan engagement. The unified platform integrates features such as AI commentary, interactive gamification, weather tracking, and synchronization of race feeds with AI-driven content.

Key Features Leveraging AI and Topaz

The Race Centre incorporates several cutting-edge features built on the Infosys Topaz applied AI foundation:

  • Generative AI Commentary Engine: Delivers real-time, context-aware race narration for enhanced understanding.
  • Podium Predictions & Fan Voting: Interactive features allowing fans to predict outcomes and vote for the ‘PIF Driver of the Race’.
  • PIT BOOST Tracking: An interactive visual tool to track mandatory fast-charging pit stops and their impact on race momentum.
  • Selected Driver Event Tracker: Provides a timeline of key moments (Overtakes & ATTACK MODE deployment) for individual drivers.
  • Agentic AI for Data Orchestration: Topaz agents process and integrate over 1.5 million data points across each race, feeding into a dashboard that visualizes race positions and car movements on a 2D track.

Vision for Sustainable Motorsport Innovation

Formula E’s Chief Executive Officer, Jeff Dodds, stated that technology is the catalyst pushing the sport forward, enabling clearer insights and greater accessibility for fans. Sumit Virmani, Global Chief Marketing Officer at Infosys, emphasized that the platform redefines the race-day experience with real-time, responsible AI insights, building a blueprint for how AI can reimagine storytelling in sports.

The platform supports Formula E’s strategy to attract younger, digitally native audiences by offering tailored storytelling across the entire race lifecycle—from practice sessions through to race day and beyond.
