NMDC Limited has officially notified the stock exchanges regarding a significant change in its Board of Directors. Effective March 19, 2026, Shri Krishna Kumar Thakur (DIN 10172666) has been appointed as a whole-time Director, designated as Director (Personnel) on the Company’s Board.
The appointment is based on the directive received from the Ministry of Steel, Government of India, and carries an initial tenure for a period of five (5) years from the date of assuming charge, or until further orders are issued.

Shri Thakur, aged 52 years, brings extensive experience, notably serving as the Director (Human Resources) on the Board of BHEL since July 4, 2023. He is an officer of the 1998 batch of the Indian Railway Personnel Service (IRPS).
Experience and Expertise
- Possesses over 25 years of diverse experience in Indian Railways and Central Public Sector Undertakings (CPSEs), handling critical HR and administrative functions across various railway divisions.
- Successfully managed the recruitment of approximately twelve thousand employees while serving as Chairman of the Railway Recruitment Cell, Western Railway.
- Played a key role in developing and streamlining HR policies during his tenure at Konkan Railway Corporation Limited (KRCL).
- At BHEL, he spearheaded initiatives focusing on the restructuring of HR, LAW & HSE functions, introduced a Uniform Incentive Scheme for manufacturing units, and developed a Multi-Skilling Reward Scheme to foster skill development.
- He also briefly held the additional charge of Director (Industrial Systems & Products) from 01.09.2023 to 08.10.2023.
Board Composition Update
The company affirmed that there is no relationship between Shri Krishna Kumar Thakur and any other existing Directors on the Board of NMDC Limited. Furthermore, NMDC confirmed that Shri Thakur is not debarred from holding the office of Director by any regulatory authority.
