Delhivery Announces Appointment of Ms. Neelam Dhawan as Independent Director and Board Chairperson

Delhivery has announced the appointment of Ms. Neelam Dhawan as a Non-Executive Independent Director, effective March 20, 2026. She will subsequently be designated as the Chairperson of the Board of Directors starting April 1, 2026. Ms. Dhawan succeeds Mr. Deepak Kapoor, who is stepping down after over eight years. The company views her extensive technology leadership experience as invaluable for strengthening its strategic vision.

Delhivery Appoints New Chairperson

Delhivery announced a significant governance transition today, March 19, 2026, with the appointment of Ms. Neelam Dhawan as a Non-Executive Independent Director, effective March 20, 2026. Following this appointment, Ms. Dhawan will assume the role of Chairperson of the Board of Directors starting April 1, 2026.

This transition follows the departure of Mr. Deepak Kapoor, who steps down from the Board after serving for over eight years. Sahil Barua, MD & CEO of Delhivery, welcomed Ms. Dhawan, noting that her track record in leading major technology companies and her diverse board experience will be invaluable as Delhivery continues to scale its technology-led logistics platform.

Ms. Dhawan’s Profile and Experience

Ms. Dhawan brings over three decades of leadership experience in the technology industry. Academically, she holds a graduate degree in Economics from St. Stephen’s College and an MBA from FMS, University of Delhi. Her expertise lies in managing complex, matrixed global technology businesses across sectors like banking, finance, manufacturing, and healthcare.

Her previous leadership roles include serving as Managing Director at HP India Sales Private Limited, Hewlett-Packard Enterprise India Private Limited, and Microsoft Corporation (India) Private Limited.

Board Memberships and Recognition

Ms. Dhawan is recognized as a pivotal figure in India’s IT industry and has served on the NASSCOM Executive Council from 2009 to 2017. She has been recognized by publications like Fortune and Forbes as one of the ‘Most Powerful Women in Business’.

Currently, Ms. Dhawan serves on the boards of several prominent companies, including Hindustan Unilever Limited, Tech Mahindra Limited, Ather Energy Limited, Fractal Analytics Limited, and Capita PLC. She is also a Director on the board of the Nudge Lifeskills Foundation.
