On March 19, 2026, NTPC Limited, recognized as India’s largest integrated power utility, entered into a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Octopus Energy Group, a leading entity in clean energy and digital energy platforms. The signing ceremony took place during the Bharat Electricity Summit 2026 in New Delhi.

The MoU was signed in the presence of several key government and corporate leaders, including Sh. Pankaj Agarwal, Secretary (Ministry of Power, GoI), and Sh. Piyush Singh, Additional Secretary (Ministry of Power, GoI). Representing the signing parties were Dr. Jatinder Singh Chandok, Head International Business Development, NTPC, and Mr. Chris Fitzgerald, Group Director, International Affairs, Octopus Energy.
Framework for Cooperation
The agreement establishes a non-binding framework to identify, assess, and pursue collaborative opportunities. These areas of focus include electricity distribution and retail, renewable energy and storage solutions, Electric Vehicle (EV) charging infrastructure, and the development of digital energy platforms. The partnership seeks to enhance efficiency, affordability, reliability, and the adoption of clean energy across India and the United Kingdom.
