The final JV agreement will be formalized upon receiving necessary clearances from DIPAM, with potential modifications to the terms.
Major Equity Infusion into BCGCL
The Board sanctioned a substantial investment into BHEL’s existing JV with Coal India Limited, Bharat Coal Gasification and Chemicals Limited (BCGCL). This involves an equity contribution from BHEL amounting to Rs. 3064.46 Crore. This investment will be spread across a period of four years. BCGCL, which was incorporated on 21.05.2024, aims to undertake the coal to chemicals business, starting with a 2000 TPD Ammonium Nitrate plant. BHEL currently holds a 49% stake in this venture, with the new investment being made at face value.
Internal Corporate Restructuring
The Board also approved two key internal mergers, both effective from April 1, 2026, aimed at streamlining operations:
- The merger of the Heavy Electrical Equipment Plant (HEEP), Haridwar, and the Central Foundry Forge Plant (CFFP), Haridwar, into a single unit, which will be named Heavy Electrical Equipment Plant (HEEP).
- The merger of the Heavy Power Equipment Plant (HPEP), Hyderabad, and the Project Engineering & Systems Division (PE&SD), Hyderabad, into a single unit, which will be named Heavy Power Equipment Plant (HPEP).
