Hyundai Motor India Limited (HMIL) has launched the new Hyundai VERNA, a mid-size sedan starting at INR 10,98,400 (Ex-showroom). The update boasts over 25 enhancements across design, technology, and safety. Key highlights include Hyundai SmartSense Level 2 ADAS, segment-first 7 airbags, and a segment-leading wheelbase. The launch coincides with HMIL celebrating thirty years in India and is supported by the ‘Respect the Young’ brand campaign.

Hyundai Reignites Mid-size Sedan Segment with New VERNA

Hyundai Motor India Limited (HMIL) today, March 09, 2026, announced the launch of the all-new Hyundai VERNA, priced starting at INR 10,98,400 (Ex-showroom). The launch event in Gurugram highlighted the vehicle’s commitment to advanced technology, premium features, and aspirational design, strengthening Hyundai’s position in the segment.

Mr. Tarun Garg, Managing Director & CEO of HMIL, stated that the new VERNA is “more than a product upgrade, it is a statement,” emphasizing its blend of stability, safety, performance, and premium appeal.

Key Enhancements: Design and Dimensions

The new VERNA features a commanding exterior styling with a Black chrome radiator grille, Dual LED Projector headlamps, and new R16 Diamond Cut Alloys. Dimensionally, it leads the segment, offering the longest wheelbase (2,670 mm), greatest width (1,765 mm), and generous length (4,565 mm), ensuring superior cabin space.

Two new colours have been introduced: Classy Blue (NEW) and Titan Grey Matte (NEW), alongside Monotone and one Dual Tone option (Atlas White with black roof).

Revolutionary Interior and Technology

The interior blends futuristic design with high utility, featuring enhancements such as:

  • D-Cut Steering wheel.
  • Leatherette seat upholstery.
  • 1st in segment Rear Window Sunshade.
  • 1st in segment Bose premium sound 8 speaker system.
  • Dual 52.06 cm (10.25″ + 10.25″) integrated displays for infotainment and digital cluster.
  • Innovative 1st in segment switchable-type infotainment and auto climate controller.
  • Enhanced comfort features, including 1st in segment Driver memory seat and 1st in segment Passenger seat electric walk-in device.
  • The largest Boot space in the segment at 528 litres.

Technology is further supported by over 70 connected features via Hyundai Bluelink and support for Wireless Android Auto & Apple CarPlay (on HX8 and HX10 variants via adapter).

Next-Level Performance and Powertrains

The new VERNA offers two powertrain options:

  1. 1.5 I MPi Petrol Engine paired with 6-Speed manual or IVT transmission.
  2. 1.5 I Turbo GDi Petrol Engine paired with 6-Speed manual or 7-Speed DCT (Dual Clutch Transmission).

The 1.5 I Turbo GDi engine is the most powerful in the segment, producing 117.5 kW (160 PS) max power and 253 Nm max torque. Dynamic capabilities are enhanced by Paddle Shifters, Drive Modes Select, and Idle stop & go (ISG).

Advanced Safety Suite

Safety has been significantly upgraded, featuring over 75 advanced safety features and 35 standard safety features.

Newly added advanced safety features include:

  • Hyundai SmartSense Level 2 ADAS with 20 features.
  • 1st in segment 7 Airbags (covering Driver, Passenger, Side, Curtain, and Center Side).
  • 1st in segment Dashcam.
  • 1st in segment Surround view Monitor and Blind Spot view monitor.

Standard safety equipment remains robust, including 6 Airbags across all variants, Electronic Stability Control (ESC), and Anti-lock braking system (ABS) with EBD.
