GAIL (India) Limited Change in Key Managerial Personnel – Appointment of New Company Secretary

GAIL (India) Limited announced a change in its Key Managerial Personnel following a Board meeting on February 27, 2026. The Board approved the appointment of Shri Deepak Asija as the new Company Secretary and Compliance Officer. This appointment is effective from March 6, 2026, replacing Shri Mahesh Kumar Agarwal. Shri Asija brings over two decades of experience, having previously served as Company Secretary for GAIL Gas Limited.

Board Approval for Key Managerial Change

In compliance with operational requirements, the Board of Directors of GAIL (India) Limited convened on February 27, 2026, between 4:00 p.m. and 5:30 p.m. During this meeting, the Board officially approved a key change within its management structure.

The Board approved the appointment of Shri Deepak Asija, who holds Membership No. FCS4565, as the new Company Secretary and Compliance Officer of the Company. This change will take effect from March 6, 2026. Shri Asija is taking over this crucial role from Shri Mahesh Kumar Agarwal (Membership No. A69402).

Profile of the Appointee: Shri Deepak Asija

Shri Deepak Asija is a highly qualified professional, holding both a commerce degree from Delhi University and a Law Graduate qualification, in addition to being a qualified Company Secretary.

  • Mr. Asija has been associated with GAIL since 2004.
  • From 2016 till April 2025, he served as the Company Secretary for GAIL Gas Limited, a wholly-owned Subsidiary of GAIL.
  • He possesses over two decades of experience in the Secretarial domain.
  • Prior to joining GAIL, Mr. Asija worked at HUDCO for approximately six years as Dy. Co. Secretary.

The outgoing Company Secretary, Mahesh Kumar Agarwal, confirmed the approval via a digital signature dated February 27, 2026, at 17:40:26 +05’30’.
