Gravita India Ltd. Expands Lead Recycling Capacity at Mundra Facility by 80,300 MTPA

Gravita India Limited announced a significant expansion of its lead recycling unit located in Mundra, Gujarat. The existing capacity has been increased by 80,300 MTPA, bringing the total capacity of this specific facility to 1,45,100 MTPA for lead recycling. This strategic move, funded by an investment of approximately ~Rs. 49.00 Crores from internal accruals, aims to enhance recycling capabilities to meet growing domestic and international demand. Following this expansion, Gravita’s total installed recycling capacity globally now stands at 4,25,959 MTPA.

Capacity Expansion at Mundra Facility

Gravita India Limited confirmed the successful expansion of its existing recycling unit situated in Mundra, Gujarat. This strategic capacity enhancement is aligned with the company’s long-term objective to strengthen its recycling capabilities and cater to increasing global and domestic requirements for sustainable lead products.

The existing capacity for Lead recycling at the Mundra unit has been significantly increased by 80,300 MTPA. As a result of this development, the total installed capacity for Lead recycling at this Facility now reaches 1,45,100 MTPA as of the announcement date, February 25, 2026.

Investment and Strategic Rationale

The company has committed an investment totaling approximately ~Rs. 49.00 Crores for the procurement and commissioning of the upgraded recycling plant. Notably, this investment has been entirely funded through the company’s internal accruals.

The expansion is expected to drive improved operational efficiencies and optimize logistics, better positioning Gravita to serve key export markets. The strategic location near the Mundra port provides distinct advantages in raw material sourcing and servicing international clientele, reinforcing the company’s commitment to circular economy principles.
