TCS and GitLab Partner to Accelerate Software Innovation with AI Orchestration

On February 25, 2026, Tata Consultancy Services (TCS) announced a major strategic partnership with GitLab Inc., the intelligent orchestration platform for DevSecOps. This global collaboration is designed to help enterprises speed up innovation velocity by deploying AI-powered orchestration and agentic AI automation throughout the entire software development lifecycle (SDLC).

Leveraging AI in the DevSecOps Lifecycle

The partnership combines TCS’s deep expertise in AI-led enterprise transformation with GitLab’s pre-built AI agents and intelligent orchestration features. According to Alex Picker, VP of Global Ecosystems at GitLab, this alliance will enable joint customers to maximize the value of the GitLab Duo Agent Platform, ensuring software delivery is managed with robust governance, security, and enterprise support.

Ashok Krish, Head – AI Practice at TCS, emphasized the necessity of this shift: “Transformation in the AI era requires not just modern tools, but a fundamental reimagining of how software is built, secured, and delivered.” The partnership aims to deliver AI-Native DevSecOps capabilities, addressing the imperative for rapid software development while maintaining compliance and reliability.

Focus on Agentic AI and Workflow Modernization

The core focus is implementing the GitLab Duo Agent Platform, which offers comprehensive agentic AI capabilities. This includes Agentic chat, Foundational agents prebuilt by GitLab experts, and the ability to integrate Custom agents and external AI tools like Claude Code from Anthropic and Codex CLI from OpenAI.

TCS will further develop industry-specific AI workflow templates and pre-built agents to rapidly accelerate time-to-value for customers adopting these AI-powered development practices. The partnership will also modernize legacy systems by leveraging GitLab’s unified platform to consolidate fragmented tool chains, thereby reducing complexity across the SDLC.

Sectoral Impact and Transformation Services

The collaboration is set to benefit numerous sectors, including telecommunications, media, and finance. For example, it will assist leading telecom providers in accelerating 5G service rollouts and modernizing content delivery. In the financial sector, it will enable faster innovation for modernizing core banking systems while maintaining compliance.

TCS will provide comprehensive transformation services, including initial assessments, migration roadmaps, custom agent development, and managed platform services through its Centers of Excellence to ensure ongoing enablement and change management.
