Himadri Speciality Chemical Ltd (HSCL) officially commenced commercial operations for its newly commissioned 70,000 MTPA Speciality Carbon Black Line at its manufacturing facility located in Mahistikry, Hooghly, West Bengal, effective February 24, 2026.
This significant brownfield expansion is a strategic milestone that substantially enhances Himadri’s production capabilities and reinforces its leadership in the global speciality carbon black market. The project utilizes advanced process technologies, state-of-the-art quality control, and energy-efficient operations.
Mahistikry Site Becomes Global Leader
With this addition, the total Carbon Black manufacturing capacity of Himadri now stands enhanced to 2,50,000 MTPA. Critically, the Mahistikry site’s Speciality Carbon Black capacity has grown to 1,30,000 MTPA, establishing it as the world’s largest single-location Speciality Carbon Black manufacturing site.
The expanded capacity is designed to serve high-value, performance-driven applications across key sectors, including plastics, inks, paints, coatings, and other niche segments.
