Adani Power Subsidiary Wins 558 MW PPA in Tamil Nadu
Adani Power Limited announced on February 24, 2026, that its subsidiary, Moxie Power Generation Ltd. (MPGL), has successfully secured a significant Letter of Award (LoA). The LoA was issued by the Tamil Nadu Power Distribution Corporation Limited (TNPDCL) for the supply of 558 MW (net) of power over a contractual period spanning five years.
The power will be sourced from MPGL’s existing 1,200 MW (2X 600 MW) power plant located in Tuticorin, Tamil Nadu. MPGL emerged as the lowest bidder in a highly competitive bidding process, offering a tariff of Rs 5.910 per unit. The supply commencement date is scheduled for April 1, 2026.
Enhancing Revenue Security and Capacity Utilization
This new Power Purchase Agreement (PPA) is strategically significant for Adani Power. With this award, the company confirms that more than 95% of its total operating capacity is now secured under medium to long-term contracts. This level of tie-up is expected to provide significant long-term revenue visibility and substantially derisk the company from short-term fluctuations in the volatile power market.
Adani Power stated its ongoing aim is to achieve almost 100% PPA tie-up for all its operational and under-commissioning plants in the coming years.
Benefits for Tamil Nadu Consumers
The supply agreement is anticipated to directly benefit Tamil Nadu consumers by ensuring an additional 558 MW of reliable, high-quality power supply. This is expected to enhance overall grid stability and support uninterrupted electricity access for households, businesses, and industries, providing them with more affordable and dependable energy.
