NTPC Green Energy Limited Declares Commercial Operation for 158.4 MW Solar Capacity in Andhra Pradesh

NTPC Green Energy Limited has announced the declaration of commercial operation for a 158.4 MW portion of its 250 MW Solar PV Project located in Kadapa, Andhra Pradesh. This capacity addition, effective February 14, 2026, is part of a joint venture structure involving ONGC. The latest inclusion has increased the total installed capacity of the NTPC Green Energy Limited Group to 9,151.08 MW.

Declaration of Commercial Operation

NTPC Green Energy Limited (NGEL) has formally declared the commercial operation of a significant solar power asset. This declaration is based on the certificate received from the Solar Energy Corporation of India Limited (SECI) dated February 20, 2026.

Project Details and Ownership

The capacity brought online is 158.4 MW, which is a part of the larger 250 MW Solar PV Project situated in Kadapa, Andhra Pradesh. The project is held by Ayana Kadapa Renewable Power Private Limited, which is a subsidiary of Ayana Renewable Power Pvt. Ltd., and ultimately a wholly-owned subsidiary of the joint venture, ONGC NTPC Green Private Limited.

The date of commercial operation achievement for this specific capacity is effective from February 14, 2026.

Impact on Total Capacity

This incremental addition marks a notable milestone for the organization’s renewable portfolio expansion. Prior to this operationalization, the commercial capacity of the NTPC Green Energy Limited Group stood at 8,992.68 MW. With the commissioning of this 158.4 MW, the total installed capacity of the Group has now increased to 9,151.08 MW.
