Hindustan Construction Company (HCC) announced securing a significant railway contract valued at ₹577.89 crore from the Northeast Frontier Railway. The project, awarded to the HCC-VCCL Joint Venture where HCC holds a 65% stake, focuses on critical tunnel construction and alignment works for the Dimapur-Kohima New BG Line Project. HCC Secures Major Railway Contract in Joint Venture

Hindustan Construction Company Limited (HCC) has successfully secured a major railway infrastructure contract, valued at ₹577.89 crore, from the Northeast Frontier Railway. The announcement was made on February 12, 2026. This significant project has been awarded to the HCC-VCCL Joint Venture, in which HCC maintains a controlling 65% stake.

Scope of Work Details

The project scope encompasses the balance of work for the construction of four critical tunnels, specifically:

  • Tunnel No. 9 (600 m)
  • Tunnel No. 11 (350 m)
  • Tunnel No. 13 (400 m)
  • Tunnel No. 16 (600 m)

The contract also includes associated cut-and-cover works, earthwork in embankment and cutting necessary to form the railway alignment, as well as protection and ancillary works for the section between Piphema and Zubza under the Dimapur-Kohima New BG Line Project.

This engagement is recognized as strategically important, aligning with Indian Railways’ broader goals to significantly enhance rail connectivity across the Northeast.
