Godawari Power & Ispat Limited (GPIL) has announced the commencement of mining operations at its Ari Dongri Iron Ore Mines following the receipt of necessary statutory approvals. The company successfully increased its mining capacity from 2.35 MTPA to 6 MTPA, accompanied by an expansion in the mining lease area to 213.01 Ha. The final Consent to Operate was received from the Chhattisgarh Environment Conservation Board on February 9, 2026, allowing enhanced production to begin immediately as of the announcement date, February 10, 2026.
Operational Expansion for Ari Dongri Mines
Godawari Power and Ispat Limited has officially informed stock exchanges that it has received approval to operate its Ari Dongri Iron Ore Mines at an enhanced capacity. This development follows earlier intimations regarding the receipt of the Environmental Clearance from the Ministry of Environment, Forest and Climate Change on January 31, 2026.
Key Capacity Enhancements
The expansion project significantly boosts the production capabilities of the facility located at Village Kachche, Dist: Uttar Baster, Kanker, Chhattisgarh. The approved capacity has been raised from the existing 2.35 Million Tonnes Per Annum (MTPA) to 6 MTPA. Furthermore, the mining lease area has been successfully increased from 138.96 Ha to 213.01 Ha to support the higher output.
Final Approvals and Commencement
The company is pleased to confirm that the final statutory approval, the Consent to Operate the mines at the enhanced capacity, was granted by the Chhattisgarh Environment Conservation Board. This consent was communicated via a letter dated February 9, 2026. Crucially, the management has confirmed that mining operations utilizing this enhanced capacity commenced effectively from today itself (February 10, 2026).
This disclosure serves to formally inform the BSE Limited and the National Stock Exchange of India Limited regarding the initiation of operations at the expanded production levels.
