Godawari Power Board Approves Financial Results, Logistics Expansion & Investment

Godawari Power & Ispat Limited (GPIL) has announced board approval for Q3 2026 financial results, an expansion into logistics, and a further investment in Godawari New Energy. The company will purchase railway wagons for ₹120 crores and invest an additional ₹200 crores in its subsidiary, GNEPL, bringing the total investment to ₹500 crores. GPIL also approved the sale of its stake in Ardent Steels for ₹90.87 crores.

Financial Performance

The Board of Directors approved the unaudited financial results for Q3 2026 and the nine months ended December 31, 2025. Key figures from the standalone results include:

  • Total Income: ₹1,027.64 crores for the quarter.
  • Profit after tax: ₹148.54 crores for the quarter.
  • Earnings Per Share: ₹2.29 basic and ₹2.21 diluted for the quarter.

Expansion into Logistics

The company is expanding its business activities to include logistics. GPIL will purchase 4 railway wagons for approximately ₹120 crores to transport raw materials and finished goods. The company also plans to amend its Memorandum of Association to include logistics and rail transportation as additional business objectives.

Investment in Godawari New Energy

GPIL will be making an additional investment of ₹200 crores in Godawari New Energy Private Limited (GNEPL), a wholly-owned subsidiary, for Setting Up of Battery Energy Storage System (BESS). This increases the total investment in GNEPL to ₹500 crores.

Stake Sale in Ardent Steels

The company will dispose of its entire 37.85% stake in Ardent Steels Private Limited for a consideration of ₹90.87 crores, pending regulatory and contractual requirements. After this transaction, ASPL will no longer be an associate company of GPIL.

Extraordinary General Meeting

The company will convene an Extraordinary General Meeting (EGM) on March 14, 2026, to seek shareholder approval for the amendment of its Memorandum of Association to include logistics activities.
