Siemens has announced a change in leadership for its Regional Compliance Officer role. Mr. Sankar Balasubramanian will transition out of the position on March 31, 2026, to take on a new international role within Siemens. Mr. Amitava Sarkar has been appointed as his successor, effective April 1, 2026. The transition ensures continued strong compliance oversight for the company.
Compliance Leadership Change
Siemens is implementing a leadership transition within its compliance department. Mr. Sankar Balasubramanian, the current Regional Compliance Officer, will be leaving his role, effective at the close of business on March 31, 2026. He is set to take on a new position within the Siemens organization overseas.
New Appointment
Effective April 1, 2026, Mr. Amitava Sarkar will be assuming the responsibilities of Regional Compliance Officer for Siemens. Mr. Sarkar brings extensive experience in governance, regulatory compliance, integrity frameworks, and legal risk management. He has been with Siemens for over ten years, serving in senior legal advisory positions across various business units.
Mr. Amitava Sarkar’s Background
Mr. Sarkar has a strong track record within Siemens, including roles across Metals Technologies, Power & Gas, Power Generation Services, and Digital Industries. He previously served as Head of Legal & Compliance at Primetals Technologies from 2015 to 2017 before returning to Siemens in August 2017. He has advised business leadership on complex legal matters, contractual risk mitigation, and governance. Since 2019, he has served as Lead Counsel – Smart Infrastructure.
Academic Credentials
Mr. Sarkar holds a Bachelor of Laws degree from Calcutta University and is a certified trainer in Contracts and Claims Management.
