LIC Reports 16.68% Increase in Profit After Tax for Nine Months Ended December 2025

Life Insurance Corporation of India (LIC) has announced a 16.68% increase in Profit After Tax (PAT) to ₹33,998 crore for the nine months ended December 31, 2025. The company’s overall APE increased by 15.88% to ₹44,007 crore, and the Value of New Business (VNB) rose by 27.96% to ₹8,288 crore. LIC’s AUM also saw an increase to ₹59,16,680 crore.

Financial Performance Highlights

LIC reported a significant increase in Profit After Tax (PAT), reaching ₹33,998 crore, a 16.68% increase compared to the previous year. The corporation’s strong performance is reflected in several key financial metrics:

  • Individual Business Non Par APE increased by 47.44% to ₹10,045 crore.
  • Overall APE increased by 15.88% to ₹44,007 crore.
  • Value of New Business (VNB) increased by 27.96% to ₹8,288 crore.
  • Total Premium Income increased by 9.02% to ₹3,71,293 crore.
  • AUM increased by 8.01% to ₹59,16,680 crore.

  • VNB Margin (Net): Increased by 170 bps to 18.8%.
  • Solvency Ratio: Increased to 2.19 from 2.02.

  • Individual Business APE increased by 11.95% to ₹27,552 crore.
  • Group Business APE increased by 23.14% to ₹16,455 crore.
  • Total Group Business Premium Income increased by 13.56% to ₹1,35,302 crore.

Market Share and Business Growth

LIC maintains its position as a market leader with a total market share of 57.07% for the nine months ended December 31st, 2025. The individual new business premium income increased by 5.89% to ₹44,941 crore. The non-par APE share within the individual business stands at 36.46%.

Strategic Initiatives

LIC is focused on channel diversification, particularly through Bancassurance and Alternate Channels, and continues its efforts to expand its reach in rural India through initiatives like the Bima Sakhi Yojana.
