NHPC Limited’s Board of Directors, in a meeting held on February 4, 2026, approved an interim dividend of 14% (₹1.40 per share) for the financial year 2025-26, with a record date set for February 10, 2026. The board also approved the cancellation of an MoU with GEDCOL for floating solar power projects and withdrawal from PTC India Limited’s board.
Interim Dividend Declared
The Board of Directors has approved the payment of an interim dividend at the rate of 14%, which translates to ₹1.40 per equity share, based on a face value of ₹10 each. This dividend is for the financial year 2025-26. The record date to determine shareholders’ eligibility for the dividend is set for February 10, 2026. The disbursement of the interim dividend will occur within the stipulated timeframe as per the Companies Act, 2013.
MoU Cancellation
The board has approved the cancellation of the Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) and Promoter’s Agreement with Green Energy Development Corporation of Odisha Limited (GEDCOL). This agreement was initially intended to facilitate the creation of a joint venture company for the development of floating solar power projects within Odisha’s water reservoirs.
Withdrawal from PTC India Limited
NHPC Limited will withdraw its Nominee Director from the Board of Directors of PTC India Limited (PTC). This decision includes relinquishing NHPC’s status and rights as a ‘Promoter’ of PTC, following guidelines from the Ministry of Power, Government of India, issued on January 16, 2026.
Financial Results Highlights (Q3 FY26)
For the quarter ended December 31, 2025, NHPC reported a profit of ₹292.87 crore. Total income was ₹2,306.60 crore. For the nine months ended December 31, 2025, the profit stood at ₹2,290.26 crore and total income at ₹8,533.91 crore.
Key financial ratios include: Debt-Equity Ratio of 1.05, Operating Margin of 19.35% and Net Profit Margin of 15.60%. Earning per share stood at ₹0.29 with movements in Regulatory Deferral Account Balances and ₹0.84 excluding those movements (not annualised).
Project Commissioning Updates
- 800 MW Parbati-II Project was commissioned in April 2025.
- 300 MW Karnisar Solar Power Project (Bikaner) was commissioned during the nine months ended December 31, 2025.
- One unit of the 2000 MW Subansiri Lower Project (Unit #2) was also commissioned.
- Second unit of the 2000 MW Subansiri Lower Project (Unit #3) commissioned on February 1, 2026.
