South Indian Bank Appoints Jose Joseph Kattoor as Non-Executive Chairman

South Indian Bank has appointed Jose Joseph Kattoor as the Non-Executive Part Time Chairman (Independent Director), effective March 23, 2026. The Reserve Bank of India approved his appointment for a term of three years. He replaces V J Kurian, who is retiring on March 22, 2026, after completing his term.

Jose Joseph Kattoor (DIN: 09213852) will assume the role of Non-Executive Part Time Chairman (Independent Director) of South Indian Bank on March 23, 2026. The appointment has been approved by the Reserve Bank of India (RBI) for a period of three years.

Appointment Details

The appointment is effective from March 23, 2026 and is for a term of three years. This is in accordance with Section 10B(1A) of the Banking Regulation Act, 1949. Jose Joseph Kattoor is not related to any existing Directors of the Bank.

Background of Jose Joseph Kattoor

Jose Joseph Kattoor, aged 62, has extensive experience at the Reserve Bank of India (RBI), where he worked for more than three decades. He retired as Executive Director of RBI in June 2023. His responsibilities as Executive Director included handling Enforcement, Corporate Strategy, Currency, and Human Resource departments. He holds a B.Sc, PGDRM(IRMA), LLB, CAIIB and AMP from Wharton. He has been an Independent Director of the Bank since July 18th 2024.
