NLC India Subsidiary Secures Letter of Award for 600MW Solar Project

NLC India Renewables Limited (NIRL), a wholly owned subsidiary of NLC India, has received a Letter of Award (LOA) from the Solar Energy Corporation of India (SECI). The LOA is for setting up a 600MW solar power project coupled with 300 MW / 1800 MWh battery storage. The project will operate under a tariff-based competitive bidding framework. The award was granted to NIRL on February 3, 2026.

NLC India Renewables Limited (NIRL), a wholly owned subsidiary of NLC India, has been granted a significant Letter of Award (LOA) by the Solar Energy Corporation of India (SECI). This award signifies NIRL’s successful bid to develop a major solar and energy storage project.

Project Details and Capacity

The project involves setting up a 600MW solar power plant coupled with a 300 MW / 1800 MWh Energy Storage System (ESS). Additionally, it includes a 1200 MW solar plant coupled with a 600 MW / 3600 MWh Energy Storage System (ESS). This is part of India’s effort to promote renewable energy through competitive bidding.

LOA Acceptance Date

The Letter of Award was formally accepted by NLC India Renewables Limited on February 3, 2026, marking an important milestone for the company’s expansion in the renewable energy sector.

Power Purchase Agreement

The power generated from the project will be supplied for a period of 25 years under a Power Purchase Agreement (PPA). The Scheduled Commencement of Supply Date (SCSD) for supplying power from the full Project capacity shall be the date as on 24 months from the Effective Date of the PPA.
