NTPC Green Energy Signs MoU for Green Urea Plant Utilities

NTPC Green Energy Limited (NGEL) has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Assago Industries Private Limited to supply Green Ammonia, Carbon Dioxide, Renewable Energy Power, and related utilities. The deal supports the production of 1000 TPD (Tons Per Day) of Green Urea. The intended Urea plant is being explored for establishment at the NGEL Green Hydrogen Hub near Visakhapatnam.

Strategic Collaboration for Green Energy

NTPC Green Energy Limited (NGEL), a subsidiary of NTPC Limited, has formalized an agreement with Assago Industries Private Limited. The MoU, signed on February 2, 2026, outlines the supply of essential resources for Green Urea production. This initiative underscores NGEL’s commitment to sustainable energy solutions.

Details of the Agreement

Under the terms of the MoU, NGEL will provide Green Ammonia, Carbon Dioxide, and Renewable Energy Power. These resources are crucial for Assago Industries’ production of 1000 TPD of Green Urea. The location under consideration for the Urea plant is within the NGEL Green Hydrogen Hub, located near Visakhapatnam, Andhra Pradesh. This collaboration is poised to boost the production and adoption of environmentally friendly fertilizers.

Location of Project

The potential site for the Green Urea production plant is within the NGEL Green Hydrogen Hub at Pudimadaka, near Visakhapatnam, AP. This strategic placement will leverage existing infrastructure and resources, creating synergies for efficient and sustainable operations.
