Aditya Birla Fashion and Retail announces the resignation of Mr. Anant Kumar Daga, CEO – TCNS Division, effective April 30, 2026. Mr. Sooraj Bhat, currently CEO – Ethnic Business, will assume additional responsibility for TCNS and be re-designated as Chief Executive Officer – Ethnic Business and TCNS, effective May 1, 2026.
Leadership Transition
Mr. Anant Kumar Daga, previously CEO of the TCNS Division and a Senior Management Personnel (SMP), has resigned from his position at Aditya Birla Fashion and Retail. His resignation will take effect at the close of business hours on April 30, 2026. The company stated that the resignation is due to personal reasons.
Sooraj Bhat’s Expanded Role
Effective May 1, 2026, Mr. Sooraj Bhat, who currently holds the position of CEO for the Ethnic Business segment, will take on additional responsibilities. He will be re-designated as the Chief Executive Officer, overseeing both the Ethnic Business and TCNS divisions within the company.
Sooraj Bhat’s Background
Mr. Bhat is the current CEO of Ethnic Business at Aditya Birla Fashion and Retail Ltd. (ABFRL). Before this, he held the position of Deputy CEO at Pantaloons. He has also served as CEO of the Fast Fashion division within ABFRL and managed the International Brands Division.
Mr. Bhat has been with Madura Garments (now Aditya Birla Fashion and Retail Limited – ABFRL) since 2002. He was recognized as the “Exceptional Contributor for Business Success” in 2014 by the Chairman of the Aditya Birla Group.
He holds a PGDM in Marketing and Strategy from IIM Bangalore and a degree in mechanical engineering from the Regional Engineering College, Calicut.
