Kalpataru Projects International Limited (KPIL) has announced that its branch office situated in Commonwealth of Dominica, received a penalty from the Inland Revenue Division, Dominica. The order was received on January 22nd, 2026, at approximately 10:27 P.M. (IST).

Details of the Penalty

The penalty was imposed in respect of Value Added Tax (VAT) assessment for April 2025 and May 2025. The nature of the action taken by the authority involves a penalty of XCD 79,367 (~INR 26.91 lakhs). This penalty was levied due to a delay in reporting and payment of VAT which was eventually paid in June 2025.

Company Response and Impact

KPIL has filed an objection against the said penalty with the relevant authority. The company asserts that the penalty levied is covered under previous clauses and does not have a significant impact on the Company.
