Hindustan Petroleum Signs LNG Supply Agreement with ADNOC Gas

Hindustan Petroleum Corporation Limited (HPCL) has entered into a Sale Purchase Agreement (SPA) with Abu Dhabi Gas Liquefaction Company (ALNG) for the procurement of Liquefied Natural Gas (LNG) for a 10-year term. HPCL will receive 5 Million Tonne per annum of LNG at its LNG Storage and Regasification Terminal in Gujarat. This agreement strengthens ties between India and UAE and bolsters India’s energy security.

Long-Term LNG Supply Secured

Hindustan Petroleum Corporation Limited (HPCL) has finalized a significant agreement with Abu Dhabi Gas Liquefaction Company (ALNG), a subsidiary of ADNOC Gas, to ensure a stable supply of Liquefied Natural Gas (LNG) for the next 10 years. This Sale Purchase Agreement (SPA) marks a crucial step in securing India’s energy needs and fostering international cooperation.

Agreement Details and Impact

Under the terms of the SPA, HPCL is set to receive 5 Million Tonne per annum of LNG at its Storage and Regasification Terminal located in Chhara, Gujarat. This supply will cater to the demands of HPCL’s own refineries, the City Gas Distribution (CGD) network, and various sectors including Fertilizers, Power, and Petrochemicals. The agreement, dated January 19, 2026, is poised to significantly contribute to meeting India’s growing energy requirements and promote a cleaner energy transition. The partnership emphasizes the role of LNG in achieving energy security and sustainability goals.
