NTPC Subsidiary Starts Commercial Operation of 300 MW Solar Project

NTPC’s subsidiary, NTPC Green Energy Limited (NGEL), has declared the commercial operation of the first part capacity of 300 MW out of its 500 MW Bhadla Solar PV Project in Rajasthan, effective January 13, 2026. This addition will bring the total installed capacity of the NTPC group to 87,287 MW and the total commercial capacity to 86,207 MW.

Bhadla Solar Project Commences Operations

NTPC Green Energy Limited (NGEL), a subsidiary of NTPC, has announced the commencement of commercial operations for a portion of its Bhadla Solar PV Project. The initial capacity of 300 MW is now operational as of January 13, 2026.

Project Details

The Bhadla Solar PV Project, located in Phalodi, Rajasthan, has a total capacity of 500 MW. This initial phase of 300 MW represents a significant step towards full operational capacity. The commissioning certificate was issued by SECI & RRECL on January 14, 2026, paving the way for commercial operations.

Impact on NTPC’s Total Capacity

With the commencement of this phase, the NTPC group’s total installed capacity will reach 87,287 MW, and its total commercial capacity will stand at 86,207 MW. The project is being managed through NTPC Renewable Energy Limited.
