NLC India Limited has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Government of Gujarat to develop large-scale Renewable Energy (RE) projects. The projects, including solar, wind, and hybrid energy, anticipate an investment of around ₹25,000 crore. This collaboration aligns with NLC India’s plan to achieve 10 GW of Renewable Energy capacity by 2030 and supports sustainable development and decarbonization.

NLC India Limited (NLCIL) has formalized an agreement with the Government of Gujarat to boost renewable energy initiatives in the state. The MoU was signed during the Vibrant Gujarat Regional Conference held on January 12, 2026, in Rajkot, indicating a commitment to furthering sustainable energy solutions.
Details of the Agreement
The agreement focuses on the development of large-scale Renewable Energy (RE) projects throughout Gujarat. These projects encompass a variety of sources, including Solar, Wind, Hybrid, and Battery Energy Storage Projects. The total investment potential for these projects is estimated at approximately ₹25,000 crore. The initiative is also expected to generate significant employment opportunities within the region.
NLC India’s Renewable Energy Goals
The proposed projects will be executed through NLC India Renewables Limited (NIRL), a wholly-owned subsidiary dedicated to 100% Renewable Energy. This collaboration strategically supports NLC India Limited’s corporate objective to reach 10 GW of Renewable Energy capacity by the year 2030. This partnership highlights the company’s focus on sustainable development, energy security and reducing carbon emissions.
