The original DGCA order, dated October 8, 2025, imposed a penalty for training irregularities. The Appellate Authority’s order, dated January 7, 2026, reinstates penalties of INR 20 lakh each on key training personnel.
DGCA Order Upheld
The DGCA Appellate Authority has dismissed IndiGo’s appeal regarding the DGCA order related to the use of pilot simulators. The initial order, issued on October 8, 2025, concerned penalties relating to simulator qualifications for pilot training at Category C Aerodromes. IndiGo contested this order before the DGCA Appellate Authority.
Appeal Outcome
The DGCA Appellate Authority’s order, dated January 7, 2026, and received on January 8, 2026, has officially dismissed the appeal. The matter has been closed with the reinstatement of the original penalties. As a result, a penalty of INR 20 lakh each will be applied to the Director of Flight Operations and the Director of Training for the company. The company is expected to comply with the ruling and has been requested to take the order on record.
