Tata Power Commissions Key Transmission Line in Uttar Pradesh

Tata Power has commissioned a 400/220 kV transmission line and substation at Greater Noida. This critical infrastructure project adds 1,000 MVA of transformation capacity, strengthening both Uttar Pradesh’s power grid and the broader Northern Grid. Surplus power will support demand across northern states. The project was executed by TP Jalpura Khurja Transmission Limited.

Transmission Line Commissioned

Tata Power has successfully commissioned the 400 / 220 kV Metro Depot Substation and associated transmission lines. This linear infrastructure project adds 1,000 MVA of transformation capacity. The project will primarily serve the growing load demand in and around Greater Noida and the NCR region.

Strengthening the Northern Grid

Surplus power from the new system will be fed into the Northern Grid. This enhancement will support power demand across other northern states. This is particularly significant given the increasing energy needs of the region.

Project Execution

This intra-state transmission system was executed under TP Jalpura Khurja Transmission Limited (TPJKPTL). Formerly known as Jalpura Khurja Power Transmission Limited, the project marks the first milestone under the Jalpura-Khurja TBCB project. The project’s commissioning highlights Tata Power’s execution and infrastructure development capabilities.

Tata Power’s Transmission Portfolio

With this latest addition, Tata Power’s transmission portfolio now includes 7,047 circuit kilometres of lines. These lines are operational and under execution across India. This reinforces the company’s role in strengthening India’s electricity transmission network.
