Bharat Heavy Electricals Limited (BHEL) announced that it has received an order from Bharat Coal Gasification and Chemicals Limited (BCGCL), a joint venture company of BHEL and Coal India Limited (CIL), on January 8, 2026.

Project Details

The order is for Coal Gasification & Raw Syngas Cleaning Plant (LSTK 1 Package) for BCGCL’s Coal to 2000 TPD Ammonium Nitrate Project at Lakhanpur, Jharsuguda District, Odisha, India.

Key Contract Terms

The contract encompasses Design, Engineering, Supply of equipment, Civil works, Erection, Commissioning and O&M Services for LSTK 1 Package.

Financial Implications and Timeline

The approximate value of the order is INR 5400 Crores (excluding GST). Preliminary Acceptance (Commissioning & Performance Guarantee Test) is expected within 42 Months from the date of the Letter of Acceptance (LOA). O&M Services will continue for 60 Months after Preliminary Acceptance.

Related Party Transaction

This order falls within related party transactions and is done at “arms length”. BHEL is a promoter company of BCGCL and also the Executing agency for the contract.
