Deepak Fertilisers’ Board of Directors has approved the appointment and re-appointment of several independent directors, subject to shareholder approval. Dr. Purvi Mehta Bhatt is appointed as an Independent Woman Director for a 3-year term starting January 1, 2026. Additionally, Mr. Sanjay Gupta, Mr. Sitaram Kunte and Mr. Terje Bakken will continue their roles as Independent Directors for second terms.

New Appointment
Dr. Purvi Mehta Bhatt (DIN: 01596457) has been appointed as an Independent Woman Director of the Company for a first term of 3 (three) consecutive years. Her term is set to commence on January 1st, 2026. Dr. Mehta brings over 28 years of leadership experience across agriculture, climate change, and financial management. She has held senior advisory positions at the Bill Gates Foundation and the Global Centre for Adaptation. She also sits on several national and international boards and advisory panels.
Re-appointments
Several existing Independent Directors have been re-appointed for second terms of 5 (five) consecutive years each:
- Mr. Sanjay Gupta (DIN: 05281731), effective from February 2nd, 2026. Mr. Gupta is an Engineering Graduate and former-Chairman & Managing Director, Engineers India Limited.
- Mr. Sitaram Kunte (DIN: 02670899), effective from February 2nd, 2026. Mr. Kunte is a civil servant of 1985 batch from Maharashtra cadre with an experience of 36 years in the Indian Administrative Service.
- Mr. Terje Bakken (DIN: 10044096), effective from February 20th, 2026. Mr. Bakken is a national of Norway with over 30 years rich experience from the International Fertilizer and process chemical industry.
