Maruti Suzuki Accelerating India’s EV Transition with Robust Charging Ecosystem

Maruti Suzuki is investing in a comprehensive EV charging ecosystem in India, signing agreements with 13 Charge Point Operators (CPOs) and aggregators. The company plans to enable over 100,000 public charging points by 2030, building upon its existing network of 2,000+ Maruti Suzuki exclusive charging points. Four e-VITARAs were flagged off to different parts of India to showcase network capabilities.

EV Charging Infrastructure Boost

Maruti Suzuki India Limited is significantly expanding its presence in the electric vehicle sector by creating a robust and comprehensive EV charging infrastructure across India. The company is collaborating with 13 leading Charge Point Operators (CPOs) and aggregators to provide seamless charging experiences on a single platform.

Extensive Charging Network

Maruti Suzuki has already established over 2,000 exclusive charging points across its nationwide dealer network. These charging points will be further supported by partner-operated charging networks across India. The company aims to enable over 100,000 public charging points by 2030, significantly enhancing EV accessibility for its customers. The initiative underscores the company’s commitment to supporting the growth of electric mobility in the country.

Pan-India ‘e Drive’ Demonstration

To showcase the capabilities of its EV charging network, Maruti Suzuki flagged off four e-VITARAs from Gurugram, heading towards Srinagar, Kanyakumari, Bhuj, and Dibrugarh. This ‘e drive’ demonstrates the real-world feasibility of EV charging and ownership across diverse geographical locations and extreme temperature conditions. The e VITARA has been rigorously tested from 60°C to -30°C, delivering a driving range of 543km.

‘e for me’ App

The Maruti Suzuki ‘e for me’ EV charging mobile app provides end-to-end access to EV charging points from partner-operated networks and Maruti Suzuki’s own network. The app offers a uniform customer journey for EV charging and payment through UPI or ‘Maruti Suzuki Money.’ It allows users to locate, pay for, and use EV charging points, manage their smart home chargers, and more. The app will also be accessible on Apple App Store® and Google Play™ Store.

EV Readiness

Maruti Suzuki has enabled over 1500 service workshops by making them EV-ready. The company has also deployed a 1.5 lakh-strong EV-ready workforce to provide the best EV ownership experience in India.
