Central Bank of India Shri E. Ratan Kumar Appointed as Executive Director

Central Bank of India has announced the appointment of Shri E. Ratan Kumar as Executive Director on the Board of the Bank, effective November 24, 2025. The appointment, authorized by the Department of Financial Services, is for a term of three years or until further notice. Shri Kumar, previously Chief General Manager, brings extensive banking and IT experience to the role.

Shri E. Ratan Kumar has been appointed as Executive Director on the Board of Central Bank of India, effective November 24, 2025. The appointment was made under the powers conferred by the Banking Companies (Acquisition and Transfer of Undertakings) Act, 1970.

Appointment Details

The Department of Financial Services, Ministry of Finance, Government of India, authorized the appointment via Notification No. eF no, 4/4(ii)/2024-BO.I, dated November 24, 2025. Shri E. Ratan Kumar will serve as Executive Director for a period of three years from the date of assumption of office or until further orders.

Professional Background

Prior to his appointment as Executive Director, Shri E. Ratan Kumar served as Chief General Manager at Central Bank of India. He holds a B. E. in Computer Science from Allahabad University and an M. Tech from Hyderabad University. Additionally, he has a Master of Financial Management from NMIMS – Mumbai University.

Banking Career

Shri E. Ratan Kumar began his career with Central Bank of India in 1997. He has approximately 35 years of diversified banking experience across various areas, including Banking and IT. He has also held leadership positions such as Senior Regional Manager for the Hyderabad and Bhubaneshwar Regions and Zonal Manager for the Hyderabad Zone. He served as Chief General Manager of the Bank from June 1, 2025, until November 24, 2025.
