The board approved increasing the bed capacity of its Mumbai hospital from 500 to 750, following receipt of additional FSI approval, and acquiring 30 residential flats for staff accommodation at a cost of up to ₹85 crore. The total Mumbai project cost is now estimated at ₹1530 crore.
Financial Performance
Global Health declared its unaudited standalone financial results for Q2 FY26. Key highlights include:
- Total Income: ₹949.23 million
- Profit Before Tax: ₹185.05 million
- Profit After Tax: ₹140.20 million
The earnings per share for the quarter stood at ₹5.22.
Mumbai Hospital Expansion
The Board approved expanding the bed capacity of the proposed Mumbai hospital from 500 beds to 750 beds after receiving additional FSI approval. Details regarding the capacity addition are included in an annexure. Additionally, the board has approved the acquisition of 30 residential flats near the Mumbai hospital construction site, earmarking up to ₹85 crore for investment. These flats will primarily serve as residential accommodation for key clinical and staff members.
Increased Project Cost
Due to the approved capacity expansion and residential flat acquisition, the total project cost for the Mumbai hospital has been revised upwards to ₹1530 crore from the initial estimate of ₹1200 crore.
Amalgamation Scheme Update
A scheme of arrangement involving Medanta Holdings Private Limited, an erstwhile wholly-owned subsidiary, has received approval from the National Company Law Tribunal (NCLT) with an effective date of April 1, 2024. This scheme has been accounted for, impacting comparative financials.
