Leela Palaces Hotels & Resorts is expanding its footprint in Rajasthan with the addition of The Leela Jaisalmer, a luxury desert resort and spa. The company signed a management agreement with The Godwin Group for this project. The opening of The Leela Jaisalmer marks a significant step in the company’s growth strategy.
The Leela Jaisalmer: A Luxury Desert Retreat
The Leela Jaisalmer, slated to open in 2026, will feature 80 rooms and is spread across 30 acres of desert landscape. The resort will offer elegantly designed rooms and tented villas. Guests can expect an expansive spa, salon services, a dedicated kids’ club, a swimming pool, and multiple dining venues. There will also be a large man-made lake. The resort will include a pillarless ballroom and generous outdoor lawns and courtyards, making it an ideal destination for weddings and other celebrations. The location will also allow for curated experiential gatherings.
Enhancing Rajasthan’s Leisure Circuit
With the signing of The Leela Jaisalmer, the company aims to create synergistic itineraries with The Leela Palace Udaipur and The Leela Palace Jaipur. The Leela is enhancing its footprint across Rajasthan and creating a high-demand leisure circuit in the state. The Leela currently operates 13 properties with 3,544 keys across 11 cities in India. With 10 hotels in the pipeline, The Leela is on track to expand to 23 properties with over 5,000 keys over the next three years in high-growth markets including Agra, Ayodhya, Bandhavgarh, Mumbai, Ranthambore, Sikkim, Srinagar, Dubai and now Jaisalmer.
