NTPC Limited Q2 FY26 Earnings Conference Call Transcript Highlights

NTPC Limited reported a strong performance in Q2 FY26, with capacity increasing to 83893 MW. The company added 4403 MW in H1 FY26, the highest in any half-year. Capacity and Generation Growth

NTPC Group’s capacity increased to 83893 MW, a 10% rise year-over-year. The company added 4403 MW in H1 FY26, marking the highest capacity addition in any half-year since inception. NGEL Group’s installed capacity reached 7564 MW. NTPC Group’s total installed capacity stands at 84849 MW.

Operational Performance

Coal stations maintained over 90% availability during H1 FY26. Total generation stood at 214 BUs. Coal stations maintained a PLF of 70.52%, exceeding the national average. Coal stock at stations reached 13.4 MMT, sufficient for 15 days of generation at 85% PLF.

Financial Performance

Standalone total income for Q2 FY26 was ₹40,689 crore. NTPC’s profit after tax for Q2 FY26 was ₹4,653 crore. Group profit after tax for H1 FY26 increased by 4% to ₹11,334 crore. Standalone regulated equity as of September 30, 2025, stood at ₹94,454 crore, a 6% increase. The company declared a first interim dividend of ₹2.75 per equity share for FY26.

Green Energy Initiatives

NGEL’s revenue from operations for H1 FY26 increased by 19% to ₹1,292 crore. Operating EBITDA also rose significantly by 21% to ₹1,133 crore. NGEL’s operating EBITDA margin improved to 88% in H1 FY26. NGEL and its subsidiaries incurred a consolidated capex of ₹6,607 crore during the six months ended September 30, 2025.

Strategic Developments

Commercial operation of Flue Gas Desulphurization systems declared for a cumulative capacity of 20270 MW. NTPC is pursuing 21 GW of PSPs and developing 1990 MWh of BESS. NTPC’s ESG ratings have shown notable improvement. Receivables from DISCOMs improved to 28 days. NGEL secured a contract for the supply of 0.7 lakh tonnes of green ammonia. The capacity addition target revised from 130 GW to 149 GW by 2032 and 244 GW by 2037.

Future Outlook

Current capacity under construction stands at 33 GW, with plans to award contracts for new capacities. The focus remains on timely project completion, fuel security, and plant efficiency. NTPC aims to achieve 60 GW of RE capacity by FY32.
