Indian Overseas Bank Shareholder Meeting Cancelled, Director Appointed

Indian Overseas Bank (IOB) has cancelled its Extraordinary General Meeting scheduled for November 20, 2025, as only one valid nomination was received for the election of a shareholder director. Shri G. Venkataramanan has been deemed elected to the position and will assume office from December 3, 2025, for a term of three years.

Extraordinary General Meeting Cancellation

The Extraordinary General Meeting (EGM) of Indian Overseas Bank shareholders, originally scheduled for November 20, 2025, has been cancelled. The meeting was called to elect a director from among the bank’s shareholders.

Sole Nomination and Appointment

Following the nomination deadline of November 4, 2025, the bank received only one valid nomination. Shri G. Venkataramanan was the sole nominee for the position of Shareholder Director.

The Nomination and Remuneration Committee, in its meeting held on November 5, 2025, assessed Shri G. Venkataramanan as ‘Fit and Proper’. With only one valid nomination, Shri G. Venkataramanan is deemed to be elected as the Shareholder Director.

Director Details

Shri G. Venkataramanan, aged 60 years, will assume office effective December 3, 2025, and will hold the position until December 2, 2028. He holds a B.Sc. and is an Associate of the Insurance Institute of India. He has over 35 years of experience in the life insurance sector.
