Shyam Metalics’s Ramsarup Industries Limited (RIL) is set to commission a modern Blast Furnace and Linear Sinter Plant, representing an investment of ₹369 crore. The Blast Furnace, with a capacity of 0.45 million tonnes per annum (MTPA), is expected to begin commercial production by the end of November 2025, enhancing the company’s production capabilities for Alloy, Carbon, and Special Steel products.
Ramsarup Industries Expansion
Ramsarup Industries Limited (RIL), a part of Shyam Metalics, is preparing to launch a state-of-the-art Modern Blast Furnace. Stove Heating started today, and after defined processes are done and preliminary activities are completed, this facility will start commercial production by the end of November 2025. The company’s Linear Sinter Plant will also be commissioned around the third week of November 2025.
Blast Furnace Details
The new Blast Furnace has a capacity of 0.45 MTPA, increasing the plant’s output. It features a volume of 350 cubic meters, modern coal injection technology, and a dry gas cleaning plant. Advanced energy recovery systems, including a 2.5 MW Top Gas Pressure Recovery Turbine (TRT) and 8 MW recovery are also integrated into the system.
Sustainability and Efficiency
The plant is designed for zero process water discharge, promoting sustainability and increasing process efficiency. The use of Pulverized Coal Injection (PCI) and an Oxygen Plant (O2), along with the Linear Sinter Plant, will enhance operating efficiency and reduce production costs.
Strategic Investment
The total investment in this expansion is ₹369 crore. This move aims to enhance the production of high-quality Alloy, Carbon, and Special Steel products using processes such as EAF, LRF, and VD, to meet the growing demand across various industries.
