DOMS Industries announced that it has received an order from the State Tax Officer, State Tax Department, Enforcement South Kashmir, regarding a previously issued Show Cause Notice. Following the company’s response, the tax office has revised its stance.
Details of the Order
The initial proceedings under Section 129(1), which alleged inadequacies in documentation during goods transit, have been dropped. The order now alleges ‘transporting taxable goods without cover of specified documents’ under Section 122(1)(xiv) of the Goods and Services Tax Act, 2017.
Penalty Reduction
The State Tax Office has reduced the demand for penalty from 200% to 100%. Consequently, the penalty amount has been reduced from ₹35,51,578 to ₹17,75,790. The company received the order on October 27, 2025.
Company’s Response
DOMS Industries is currently evaluating appropriate legal remedies and intends to respond to the order within the prescribed time limit. The company believes that this order will not have a material impact on its financial operations or other activities.
