CESC Limited Subsidiary Secures 2000 MW Solar Project with Energy Storage

CESC Limited’s subsidiary, Purvah Green Power Private Limited, has received acceptance of the Letter of Award from Solar Energy Corporation of India (SECI) for setting up a 2000 MW ISTS-connected Solar PV Power Project. This project includes 1000 MW/4000 MWh Energy Storage Systems in India. The project was awarded under the guidelines for tariff-based competitive bidding for grid-connected renewable energy projects, offering CESC a strong foothold in the green energy sector.

Purvah Green Power Private Limited, a subsidiary of CESC Limited, has acknowledged the acceptance of the Letter of Award dated October 27, 2025, issued by Solar Energy Corporation of India Limited (SECI). This award pertains to Purvah’s response to a Request for Selection (RfS) for setting up a significant renewable energy project.

Project Details

The project involves the establishment of a 2000 MW ISTS-connected Solar PV Power Project, which will also include a 1000 MW/ 4000 MWh Energy Storage System. The project was awarded by SECI, following the guidelines for tariff-based competitive bidding. Purvah was selected based on its competitive tariff proposal.

Key Terms and Conditions

Purvah has been selected to set up a Solar Power Project with ESS of 300 MW Contracted Capacity under Tariff-based Competitive Bidding. The power supply will come from a Solar Power Project with ESS of 300 MW Contracted Capacity. The project is domestic in nature and is expected to be executed over a period of 25 years from the scheduled commencement of supply date.

Financial Aspects

The tariff rate for the project is set at Rs 2.86/-kWh.
