Tejas Networks PowerTel Selects Tejas for 400Gbps DWDM Network Upgrade

Tejas Networks has been selected by PowerGrid Teleservices (PowerTel) for a Telecom Capacity Augmentation Project. This involves deploying a next-generation SDN-based DWDM network with 400Gbps capacity. The project includes network design, supply, installation, testing, commissioning, and integration at new sites and upgrades of existing links. Tejas is deploying its multi-terabit TJ1600 DWDM/OTN product capable of delivering up to 1.2Tbps over a single wavelength.

PowerTel Project Secured

Tejas Networks [BSE: 540595, NSE: TEJASNET] announced on October 27, 2025, that it has won a Telecom Capacity Augmentation Project from PowerGrid Teleservices (PowerTel), a subsidiary of Power Grid Corporation of India (PGCIL).

Project Details

The project encompasses network design, supply, installation, testing, commissioning, and integration of a 400Gbps DWDM system. This includes both new greenfield sites and upgrades to existing network links. The solution will use Tejas Networks’ TJ1600 DWDM/OTN product.

TJ1600 DWDM/OTN Product

Tejas is deploying its state-of-the-art TJ1600 DWDM/OTN product, a multi-terabit platform capable of delivering up to 1.2Tbps over a single wavelength. This product also supports advanced alien wavelength technology.

Arnob Roy, Chief Operating Officer and Executive Director of Tejas Networks, stated the company is delighted to extend its partnership with PowerTel to augment the backbone capacity of their pan-India DWDM network.
