These include a major order from Hindalco for setting up a 180 KTPA Aluminium Smelter in Odisha, alongside an order from TATA Steel for a 1 MTPA Coke Oven Battery. Larsen & Toubro’s Minerals & Metals (M&M) business vertical has received several substantial orders in India. These new contracts, announced on October 24, 2025, underscore L&T’s continued dominance in the sector.

Details of the Hindalco Order

A significant order comes from Hindalco for the construction of a 180 KTPA Aluminium Smelter and Gas Treatment Centre (GTC) at their greenfield project in Odisha. This involves civil and structural works, supply, and erection for the Smelter, and engineering, procurement, construction, and plant installation for the GTC.

Tata Steel Project Secured

L&T has also secured an order from TATA Steel, Jamshedpur, for setting up a 1 MTPA Coke Oven Battery 6 A/B. This project includes engineering, manufacturing, supply, construction, and plant installation.

Product Business Unit Gains

The Product Business Unit of M&M has also secured multiple orders from clients across India for mining and material handling equipment, including Stacker Reclaimers, Wagon Tipplers, Crushers, and Surface Miners.

According to T Kumaresan, Senior Vice President & Head of Minerals & Metals at L&T, these orders affirm L&T’s engineering excellence, execution capability, and customer relationships. He further stated that these wins strengthen L&T’s role in shaping the nation’s industrial infrastructure and deepen its ties with the steel sector, emphasizing world-class execution and technological excellence.

Project Value Classification

These projects are classified as ‘Large’, indicating a value between ₹2,500 to ₹5,000 Cr.
