The company highlighted a 3.2% year-on-year growth in revenue for Q2 FY27, which stood at ₹206.30 crore, compared to ₹199.83 crore in the corresponding quarter of the previous year.

Key Financial Performance Indicators

The company’s Earnings Before Interest, Taxes, Depreciation, and Amortization (EBITDA) for Q2 FY27 was reported at ₹45.40 crore, with an EBITDA margin of 22.0%. This marks a notable decrease from ₹72.65 crore and a margin of 36.4% recorded in Q2 FY26. The Profit After Tax (PAT) for Q2 FY27 stood at ₹29.25 crore, down from ₹50.43 crore in the same quarter last year, resulting in a PAT margin of 14.2% compared to 25.2%.

First Half FY27 Performance

For the first half of FY27, Supriya Lifescience reported a revenue of ₹396.04 crore, an increase of 14.8% over ₹344.91 crore in H1 FY26. The EBITDA for H1 FY27 was ₹92.86 crore, and the PAT was ₹53.29 crore for the period.

Factors Influencing EBITDA and PAT

The company attributed the decline in EBITDA to several factors. These include regulatory changes in the LATAM market impacting demand for higher-margin products, a shift towards sales from semi-regulated markets, and higher operating expenses at the new Ambernath facility during its ramp-up phase. Additionally, ongoing geopolitical tensions led to sustained high prices for raw materials and solvents, impacting margins.

Therapeutic Portfolio and Market Expansion

Supriya Lifescience continued to diversify its therapeutic portfolio, with vitamins increasing their contribution to revenue to 16% (from 12% in H1 FY26) and the analgesic segment rising from 2% to 6%. Anaesthetics remained the largest segment at 48% of revenue. Geographically, Europe emerged as the largest market in Q2 FY27, contributing 43% of revenue, up from 37% in Q2 FY26. Asia accounted for 36% of revenue.

Manufacturing and Product Development

The Ambernath facility has commissioned its finished dosage manufacturing capabilities, and commercial manufacturing has commenced. The company launched two new anaesthetic liquid inhalation products and plans for approximately two product launches in the ADHD segment during FY27. Supriya Lifescience also operates with a backward-integrated business model and is strengthening its R&D capabilities with a focus on API and formulation process development.
