Greenpanel Industries Q2 FY27 Earnings Call Highlights

Greenpanel Industries Limited has shared the transcripts of its Q2 and H1 FY27 Earnings Conference Call, held on November 2, 2026. The call provided insights into the company’s financial performance, strategic initiatives, and outlook for the remainder of the fiscal year.

Strong Retail Performance and Market Strategy

Shobhan Mittal, the Managing Director, noted a continued focus on enhancing sales volume across categories, with results becoming increasingly visible. The retail segment demonstrated strong volume growth for both MDF and plywood, with Q2 FY27 retail MDF sales marking a historic high for the company. Looking ahead, the pre-festive season pickup suggests a potentially much improved third quarter and second half of the current fiscal.

While the price-sensitive OEM segment saw a slower response, partly due to price increases in Q1 and OEMs seeking alternate import arrangements, pricing realignments have been undertaken to aid volume recovery. The company is also navigating abnormal conditions in the Middle East impacting container availability and delivery costs.

Financials and Outlook

Himanshu Jindal, the CFO, reported that total revenue for Q2 FY27 reached INR407 crore, a growth of 4.6% year-on-year. For the first half of the year, total revenues grew by 6.3% year-on-year to INR757 crore. The company expects domestic demand drivers to remain intact, projecting a 15% to 17% CAGR for MDF, supported by the ongoing implementation of the Furniture Quality Control Order 2025.

Greenpanel aims for mid-teen MDF volume growth for the full year, with retail MDF expected to grow strongly. The company also intends to recover the first-half shortfall in MDF OEM and export volumes in the latter half of the year. On the margin front, while competitive pressures exist, softening chemical costs and operating leverage are expected to support margin expansion.

Market Share and Future Capacity

Discussions also touched upon market share, with the company estimating its domestic share to be around 23% to 25%. Regarding capacity, Greenpanel anticipates an additional volume of 800,000 to 900,000 cubic meters per year over the next two years. The industry’s capacity addition is expected to slow down, though some oversupply is anticipated for the next couple of years, potentially leading to pricing pressures.

Industry Dynamics and Competitive Landscape

The call addressed competitive intensity, with mentions of players like Greenply, Action, Century, and Rushil Decor. Greenpanel highlighted its strategy to increase value-added products and focus on retail to improve its overall cubic meter utilization. The company also acknowledged the pressure from new entrants and the general oversupply in the market but believes its strategy is focused on sustainable growth and operating leverage.
