Bayer CropScience’s Q2 and H1 FY27 Financial Performance
Bayer CropScience Limited (BCSL) has released its unaudited financial results for the quarter and half-year ended September 30, 2026. The company reported a notable 19% decline in revenue from operations for the second quarter (Q2) of FY 2026-27, amounting to ₹12,507 million, compared to ₹15,534 million in the corresponding period of FY 2025-26.
Despite the revenue dip, Profit Before Tax (PBT) for Q2 showed a positive trend, increasing by 6% to ₹2,114 million from ₹2,003 million in the prior year’s Q2. This growth in profitability was attributed to improved gross margins, favourable production yields for corn seeds, and cost efficiencies.
First Half Performance and Dividend
For the first half (H1) of FY 2026-27, BCSL reported revenue from operations of ₹30,857 million, an 11% decrease compared to ₹34,680 million in the corresponding period of FY 2025-26. However, Profit Before Tax for H1 increased by 15% to ₹6,135 million, up from ₹5,355 million in the previous year’s H1.
Commenting on the results, Simon Wiebusch, Vice Chairman & Managing Director and CEO, BCSL, noted that Q2 faced a challenging operating environment characterized by uneven monsoons affecting sowing patterns and crop protection demand, alongside lower corn acreages. He emphasized the company’s focus on disciplined execution and strengthening its portfolio.
Vinit Jindal, Executive Director and Chief Financial Officer, highlighted that Profit After Tax saw an increase of 9% in Q2 and 13% in H1, supported by improved gross margins and cost efficiencies. He also mentioned that higher corn seed production volumes, coupled with weaker market demand, led to increased inventory and market liquidity pressures causing delayed collections.
Furthermore, the Board of Directors, in their meeting on November 03, 2026, declared an interim dividend of ₹90 per equity share for the financial year ending March 31, 2027. This interim dividend amounts to a total of ₹4,045 million.
