Shree Cement Reports Q2 FY27 Performance
Shree Cement Limited has announced its financial results for the quarter ended September 30, 2026. The company reported a consolidated sales volume increase of approximately 18% year-on-year, growing from 7.91 million tons to 9.31 million tons. This volume expansion was supported by improved capacity utilization in its Indian operations, which rose to 56% from 52% in the corresponding quarter of the previous year.
Financial Highlights
Consolidated EBITDA for the quarter stood at INR1,016 crores, a 4% increase compared to INR974 crores in the prior year. However, consolidated EBITDA per ton saw a decline to INR966 from INR1,055, attributed primarily to higher fuel costs. Realizations improved marginally by 1%, from INR4,840 per ton to INR4,870 per ton.
Capacity Expansion and Sustainability
The company’s capacity expansion program continues to progress. In September 2026, its step-down subsidiary, Union Cement Company in the UAE, commissioned a new cement mill with an annual capacity of 3 million tons, taking its total capacity to 7 million tons per annum. Construction is also progressing on the greenfield integrated plant in Meghalaya, expected for commissioning by the quarter ending March 31, 2028. Sustainability remains a key focus, with green electricity accounting for 65.2% of total electricity consumption. The company’s green power generation capacity stands at 667 megawatts, with ongoing projects to further increase this share.
Outlook and Strategy
Shree Cement anticipates the Indian economy to remain supportive, driven by infrastructure investment and urbanization. While a weak monsoon may impact rural demand temporarily, consistent spending on roads, railways, and data centers is expected to maintain positive cement demand. The company remains focused on strengthening market positions, enhancing operational efficiency, and executing growth plans. Management expects the second half of the year to show improved performance, building on current initiatives and demand trends.
Ready-Mix Concrete Business Growth
The ready-mix concrete business continues to expand, with a commercial network of 28 plants and a total of 35 plants. In Q2 FY27, ready-mix concrete volumes rose by 153% year-on-year to 2.73 lakh cubic meters, with revenue increasing by 182% to INR129 crores. The business maintained profitability, reflecting the advantages of increased plant utilization.
